Occasional Panel Series

Overview

The Transatlantic Dialogue panel series is conceived as a continuation of our successful and memorable speaker series two years ago on the futures of Europe entitled Ideas, Ideals and Those Who Make Them Happen. Featured guests of the prior series included:

The Transatlantic Dialogue series invites two guests for each event to NYU School of Law who hold similar or comparable positions on their respective sides of the Atlantic Ocean. We actively seek to "match" each European with their American counterpart in the hope that discussion will act as a catalyst for a continued open conversation between other speakers from various areas of politics, policy and the law. In this way, exploring the current relationship between the EU and the U.S. will foster a truly transatlantic dialogue.

All panels in the series are informal, off-the-record discussions moderated by J.H.H. Weiler, University Professor and Faculty Director of the Hauser Global Law School Program, and Martin Schain, Professor of Politics and French Studies. Additionally, the events allow time for members of the audience to ask questions of the panel.
